DISCLAIMER / INSTRUCTIONS:
The following document is distributed to SC37 National Bodies for informational purposes only.
SC37 WG1 requests that SC37 WG Editorial teams consult this corpus document whenever biometric vocabulary
decisions and discussions are underway within a project. The terms and definitions within this document include all
those terms and definitions that have been submitted thus far to WG1 for consideration during biometric vocabulary
harmonization work. The "harmonized" terms and definitions will be provided in SC37 Standing Document 2:
Harmonized Biometric Vocabulary.
Should a SC37 WG project document require the inclusion of a biometric term/definition in its
Terms and definitions clause, WG1 requests that SC37 Standing Document 2 be consulted first to determine if the
term/definition exists within the harmonized set and, whenever possible, use this term/definition in the document.
Should the term/definition not appear in SC37 SD2, this Biometric Vocabulary Corpus should be consulted next. In this
case WG1 requests that, whenever possible, terms and definitions that exist in the Corpus be used as opposed to creating
new terms/definitions. Should it be necessary to create a new definition or term, the WG is requested to submit such
terms/definitions to WG1 (via the WGx to WG1 liaison representative) and indicate to WG1 the reason for new term/definition
creation.
